Threshers

At Threshers in Harlow, a bespoke structural glazing project delivered one of the largest skylights in the UK. Measuring 10 metres by 3.2 metres and weighing 2.5 tonnes, the skylight was manufactured in Austria and transported to site by dedicated inloader lorry. Installation required detailed planning and specialist logistics, including the use of a 60 tonne crane to position the glass with absolute precision.

The completed skylight is a defining architectural feature, flooding the interior with natural light and demonstrating what is achievable at the highest end of large scale glazing. Seamlessly integrated and technically exact, it enhances both the functionality and visual impact of the building and stands as a clear example of successful collaboration between design, engineering, and execution.
