This end of terrace home in Bushey, Hertfordshire was thoughtfully extended to create a generous open plan living space with a strong connection to the garden. The brief was clear. The extension needed to feel light, contemporary, and visually open while remaining practical for everyday family living. Slim frame sliding doors were central to achieving this balance.

We specified and installed the Fluid Sliding Door system to support the architectural intent. Chosen for its minimalist design language and refined detailing, the system enabled us to open up the rear of the property without compromising the clean, modern aesthetic of the home. The result is a calm, elegant transition between inside and out, with uninterrupted views across the garden.

The door's concealed outer frame and smooth sliding action sit comfortably within the modern architecture of the extension. When closed, the refined framing still delivers a strong indoor outdoor relationship, maintaining visual continuity and allowing natural light to flood the kitchen and living area. When open, the boundary between the interior and the garden all but disappears, creating a seamless continuation of space that enhances how the home is used throughout the year.

Every aspect of the extension was carefully considered to ensure the space worked as beautifully as it looked.
